St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool would like to extend a huge thank you to Biffa Waste Management for their generous donation of trees for our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. The children are incredibly excited to care for the trees and watch them grow over the coming months and years.

EYFS Sports Day Filled with Fun, Teamwork and Smiles
Children in EYFS at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day packed with excitement, enthusiasm and achievement. Throughout the event, the children demonstrated great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship as they took part in a variety of fun activities and races.
Year 5 and Year 6 Learn Vital Water Safety Skills at Swim Safe
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool recently enjoyed a valuable educational visit to Seaton Carew beach as part of the Swim Safe programme. The session provided children with important knowledge and practical guidance about staying safe in and around the sea.
Year 6 Enjoy Inspiring Day at YMT Youth Festival
Year 6 pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool had a fantastic time at the YMT Youth Festival at Emmaus Youth Village, taking part in a day full of faith, fun and friendship. The festival offered a packed programme of activities, including singing, dancing, games, worship and moments of reflection.

Building Success: Year 5/6 Tower Challenge
Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took part in an exciting tower‑building team challenge, putting their creativity, engineering skills and teamwork to the test.
Glow Dodgeball Fun: Year 6 Shine at Sports Event
Our Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable afternoon taking part in a Glow in the Dark Dodgeball event at Brierton Sports Centre. The classic game of dodgeball was brought to life in a pitch‑black arena illuminated by blacklights, creating a spectacular atmosphere. Pupils wore fluorescent bibs, glowing wristbands and UV face paint, while neon foam balls lit up the action.
Carnival Creativity in Year 1/2
Our Year 1/2 children have been getting creative by designing and making their own carnival masks, inspired by the vibrant Mardi Gras festival—and what a fantastic job they have done! The classroom was full of colour, excitement and imagination as the children brought their designs to life. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and took great pride in their creations.
Year 6 Celebration at Portofino’s
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time celebrating the end of their SATs with a well-deserved trip to Portofino’s! It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to relax, enjoy some delicious food and spend quality time together after all of their hard work. The smiles said it all—everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Creativity Shines in After School Arts & Crafts Club
Last term, our Arts and Crafts After School Club at St Joseph’s was full of creativity, imagination and wonderful designs. The children enjoyed a wide range of activities, producing some truly amazing creations to take home and share with their families. These included beautifully designed bracelets, thoughtful kindness stones, personalised keyrings, and a variety of colourful Easter crafts.
