Pupils at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Hartlepool enjoyed an inspiring opportunity to learn from experts working on one of the world's most exciting space programmes during a live online event with NASA.
Year 5/6 pupils joined a live Zoom session with spacecraft engineers to learn all about the Artemis mission, gaining a fascinating insight into the future of space exploration and the technology that will help take humans farther into space.
The event gave pupils the chance to hear directly from industry professionals, discover the skills needed for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and learn more about the challenges and achievements involved in space travel.
Meanwhile, Year 3/4 pupils also took part in the NASA online event, attending live from school as two engineers shared the story of Artemis II. The children were captivated as they learned about the mission and the teamwork, innovation and determination required to make such ambitious projects possible.
Experiences like this help bring learning to life, encouraging curiosity and inspiring young people to think about the exciting opportunities that STEM subjects can offer.
