A group of Year 5/6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic opportunity on Monday when they attended a Play Leaders course at Seaton Carew Cricket Club.

Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of fun, non-traditional playground games, including skipping rope activities and target-based challenges. The course was designed to help pupils develop the skills needed to become confident and effective play leaders within school.

As well as learning new games, the children were shown how to deliver clear instructions, work cooperatively as part of a team and promote fairness and inclusion when leading activities. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, enthusiasm and leadership skills throughout the session.

We are excited to see our newly trained play leaders put their learning into practice and share these games with other children during lunchtimes. Their knowledge and enthusiasm will help create even more opportunities for active, enjoyable and inclusive play across the school.

Well done to all of the Year 5/6 pupils who took part and represented St Joseph's so brilliantly!
