Year 3/4 had an exciting and practical science lesson today as they explored height and body measurements through a series of collaborative investigations.
Working in pairs and small groups, the children measured each other’s height and compared results to discover who was taller. They also examined femur and humerus lengths, investigating the differences between arm and leg measurements. This sparked brilliant discussion about how our bodies grow and why some limbs might be longer than others.
The pupils showed fantastic enthusiasm as they carefully recorded their findings, compared results, and shared their ideas about who had longer arms, longer legs, and why these differences might occur. Their teamwork, focus, and curiosity were clear throughout the lesson.
This hands‑on activity not only strengthened their measuring skills, but also deepened their understanding of the human body in a fun and memorable way.
Well done, Year 3/4!
