At St. Joseph’s Hartlepool, we strive to nurture compassion and global awareness in our pupils. This term, we were delighted to welcome CAFOD for a special Jubilee-focused assembly, exploring what fairness, dignity, justice, and global responsibility truly mean.

During the session, pupils learned how CAFOD supports communities worldwide by providing clean water, education, farming resources, health care, and emergency aid. The assembly highlighted the importance of kindness, sharing, and stewardship as key elements of living out our faith.

Children were introduced to CAFOD’s World Gifts initiative, discovering how donations can provide essential resources for families in need—from seeds and school supplies to water filters and even goats! This practical example showed pupils how even small acts of generosity can lead to significant change.

The assembly sparked deep discussion and heart-led ideas, with many pupils already suggesting charity events, sponsored challenges, and creative ways to help others. They left feeling motivated, reflective, and proud to recognise that they have the power to build a fairer world—one generous action at a time.
