At St. Joseph’s Hartlepool, we believe in teaching pupils the value of responsibility, care, and community spirit. This term, our children proudly embraced community action, learning what it means to contribute to and care for the spaces around them.

We were delighted to welcome Fran from Big Town Tidy Up, who delivered an engaging workshop about the importance of keeping our local area clean and litter-free. Pupils explored why looking after our environment matters and how small actions can make a big difference.

Fran provided education packs, litter pickers, and bags, equipping pupils with the tools they need to get out into the community and make a real impact. This hands-on experience encouraged teamwork, environmental awareness, and a sense of pride in helping to keep Hartlepool beautiful.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their enthusiasm and commitment to this project. Their efforts show that even the youngest members of our community can lead the way in creating positive change.
