Our Faith

At St Joseph's school  we put Jesus at the Centre of our school lives.  This happens as we say our prayers daily putting Jesus first into our daily work and thanking him at the end of our day. We think of the Gospel values taught in the Sermon on the mount and is reinforces through the school mission statement which is displayed in every class.

We teach the children to be faithful to their faith by showing them the traditional features of the Catholic Faith.

We show respect for children and adults who belong to other faiths accepting that we are all different.

We encourage the children to help look after the poor, needy, sick and dying in fundraising activities and of writing prayer cards and sending them out into the community.

The children are shown how to accept and give forgiveness in the act of reconciliation this then helps them to give forgiveness when they have had disagreements on the school playground or within their families.

They learn that they can help the wider world by raising funds and supporting the work of CAFOD who work overseas on many projects.

Children are given the opportunity to build their own relationship with Jesus  allowing him to do his work through them. We celebrating their achievements  with their families giving them an understanding that you are allowed to aim for great things and to be praised for them.

For God knows the plans he has made for us.

We just have to listen to the way in which he wants us to go.

Our school is part of the Parish of the Holy Family Parish in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle
